VOLUNTEERING WITH OFFENDERS IN THE COMMUNITY

3 days fully subsidised training 16, 18, 20 February 2009
Do you live/work in Surrey? Do you have some experience of working with vulnerable people? Would you like to receive training to develop your skills as a mentor working on a pilot developed as a partnership of VCOs and Probation in Surrey? This 3 day training course, already successfully delivered, is particularly suitable for those interested in mentoring offenders in the community. Modules include:

  • Introduction to Volunteering with Offenders in the Community
  • Exploring Issues Facing Offenders
  • Volunteers' Skills and Qualities
  • The Mentoring Relationship
  • The Mentoring Model - progress in changing lives

The course will be offered in Guildford 16, 18, 20 February 2009; it is fully subsidised.
This training would normally cost £375 per person and places will be allocated upon successful application.
